Need Hog Panels
 

I'm looking for at least 15 Hog panels. I've seen some advertised on a bowhunting web site, just can't remember which one.

Just curious, but are these like cut down cattle panels? Haven't seen any, but curious as to what you find out and the prices. I may need some to fence off a feeder.

I'VE ALWAYS CALLED THEM HOG PANELS, I THINK THEY ARE BOTH THE SAME. WE USED TO MAKE HOG TRAPS OUT OF THEM SO I GUESS THE NAME JUST STUCK.ANYWAY I'M SHOPPING AROUND RIGHT NOW,SOON AS I FIND A GOOD PRICE I'LL PASS IT ON.

Fireman Try Tractor Supply theirs are around $15.00 each, for Utility panels

There is a difference between hog panels and cattle panels. Hog panels are normally 35" tall and the bottom 3-5 squares are smaller than the rest to prevent smaller pigs getting through. Cattle panels are approx. 52" tall and all the squares are the same size.

Ok if you're building pens to keep cattle away from your feeder, could you use the hog panels with say a strand of barb wire on the top?

Also if you want to keep the hogs out will barb wire on the bottom discourage them from digging under too readily or do you have to get a ditch witch and bury them? (Note the latter might be the way to go, but seems too expensive and pretty hard to do for a lazy boy like me.)

Tomme, build it big enough that no feed gets outside the pen and the hogs should stop coming.

I recommend using hog panels vs. cattle panels. The lower the fence and larger the fence, the more comfortable the deer are with going in it. A regular hog panel will keep cattle out without a problem, if you have goats or sheep it's a different story...then you need to run at least one of not two strands of barbed wire across the top of the panels. There's no need to bury the panles, just make sure that they are flush to the ground. Also the more t-posts you use the less likely for a hog to try and push or dig there way under it. As long as you build it large enough so that the feed stays inside the pin you shouldn't have any hogs hanging out after they figure it out. We build all our pens at least 2 panels x 2 panels...for a 32'x32' dimension. If you can go larger that is better.
