I'm getting a fishing tournament put together to help a Boy Scout with his Eagle Scout project which is to build a War Memorial in Dickinson Tx.

Just wanted to let everyone know that Joe's BBQ in Alvin will be catering the food for this event.

So even if you don't fish in the tournament, come on over to the Dickinson VFW and get some BBQ, take a look a the great auction items and meet Capt. Wayne Vinton (Formerly the voice of the Outdoors Show on Sports Radio 610). There are going to be some custom hunting knives on the auction and for those of you that like golf there are golf packages. There might even be an archery related item or two. I've also donated two copies of my book, All Hawks Kill and will personally autograph them for the winners.

Really hope to see a few of you there.

Bob you still got a chance. I never posted a date........dumb on me. It is going to be held on Saturday Sept. 19th. The fishing tournament runs from 6AM till 4PM. The BBQ dinner will be served from 4PM till 6:30. Bidding in the silent auction will be from 4PM till 7PM. I've also been told that the boy scout troop is planning some type of entertainment during dinner. It should a pretty good event, so if you do get a chance slide on by.

Our goal was just over $21,000 and we pulled $18,970 so we still have a little work to get to the point where we can finish the memorial, but we are very close.

Derek, those auction items are very nice. I am sorry I missed it. I was in San Antonio working the south zone for dove hunting. Bob
