wow that is some great prices. The female Scimitar have longer horns than the Bulls, don't they?
|
Sounds like a good deal. I sure wish work would pick up.
|
Yeah they do but not like that mass your had.
It's common for them to grow longer, thinner horns than the male. I'm doing this guides choice on the scimitar females because I have some females that are good proven breeders and I want to keep them a little longer. Should prove to be some pretty good hunts. |
I used to love watching the free range oryx over at White Sands, NM, between Alamogordo and Las Cruces. Bet there was close to 50 in the herd. (Not scimitar) I always wanted to hunt them, but never put in for it. Over there it's a once in a lifetime resident hunt. Beings I'm not a resident now, I'm out of luck with them.
I hope the LSBA can bring you a lot of business Curtis. ;) |
Thanks for the good wishes! I appreciate it. I hope my hunt donations to the LSBA well.
Are you going to be at the banquet again this year? I'm planning on being there and having another good hunt donation. I'm thinking one trophy hunt for a trophy axis or a blackbuck and a meat hunt donation as well for a second donation. LSBA has been good to me and my family and I want be good to them. :) Not much left on these hunts now. 2 Scimitar-horned Oryx hunts left 2 Axis doe and blackbuck doe hunts left. Yeah the Gemsbok in NM are pretty agressive animals but good eating. I had to work some Gemsbok last week on a friends place. One big male hit me on my shield so hard that when I hit the 1/2" plywood wall of the barn, the panel broke. I nearly lost all of my balance and if that had happened I would have been in serious trouble. Those animals are huge and very dangerous up close. |
I plan on being there.
From what I've seen in the pics, those Scimitars are some beautiful animals. How's the meat? I added the link to your website. Hope it helps. |
The meat is good in my opinion. Better than Blackbuck, not quite as good as axis. They are a grazer. Right now they should all be nice and fat because they are hitting my 1300 alfalfa bales and putting them away in 4 days.
Thanks for adding the link! |
All of my management axis and blackbuck doe hunts are now filled. I will hopefully have more available later in the year.
I still have 2 scimitar-horned oryx management hunts available. Thank you to all that booked and inquired! To those of you that are interested and would like me to put you on my contact list for future hunt specials, send me an email or give me a call and let me know. Thank you!
