This will be my 6th season bowhunting and I learned very early in the archery game that it was probably best that I learn to work on my own equipment.

Early this year I bought a Bowtech Allegiance. First time to own a BT. Different type of cam system from the hybrid/cam.5 I was used to. I seeked advise, wisdom, experience from folks familiar with the binary dual cam system and have tweaked for the past three weeks. I don't like to go into the season opener without my equipment 100%. My Bheads were hitting with my Ftips last weekend but still something nagged at me.

I noticed last weekend that my tied in serving thread nock was unraveling so I changed it during the week.

My Bheads were hitting a couple inches high from the ftips after the new nock was tied in. Nock point too low? Made a couple of adjustments and I'll tell you now that nothing is nagging at me except these 90+ degree temps.

Something I hate Bill is the dog gone string stretch...my mathews are bad even with the new string out this year ..make me old peep sideways at times..I practice without my peep at times so if I am hunting at night and cant see forwhatver I still can be with in an inch..but it drives me batty

i need to learn to tie a d loop also i shoot without a peep and string shoot this aids in night shooting of hogs

Looks good Bill. Do any hunting yet this weekend. I went this morning but sweated too much in that sauna, I mean ground blind. Didn't see the one I was after.

Hey guys, woke up Saturday morning without internet and just got it working again. Good to be back.

Tim one thing I have learned is to get a good, pre-stretched, custom made set of string/cable(s) for you bow. I normally change them out as soon as I buy a new bow so I don't have to set them up twice. I prefer 452x material myself. I didn't change it on the Bowtech but have found their stock string to be well made as it hasn't moved on me once I got number of shots through it.

Howie, tying a d-loop is very easy to do. The package they sell at Academy used to show the method I use although there are several ways to do it. The method I have pictured about is how I do it on short bows.

Jay, didn't hunt all weekend. Too hot. My dad and youngest brother came up Saturday and we moved a gun box blind over the the 40 acres I bought for the general season. I'm hoping for the big cool down they tell us we are getting.
