Meet Gar Tamer IV
Finished up my newest and last bowfishing rig. the boat is a yamaha G-3, 18'X80" wide, Tunnel hull, powered by a Yami 90hp 4-stroke. Electronics include a Lowrance LMS 480 Mapping GPS/ Sonar.
Shooting deck frame is all stainless steel. Deck is removable by pulling four pins. Four 500 watt halogen flood lights are mounted beneath the deck, and powered by a Honda 2500 watt generator. Made a run this past weekend to Choke Canyon for "shake down" run, No flaws. Like most fish stories, the big one got away(150 to 200 class). http://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y67/tbbrchairman/G.jpg http://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y67...an/th_Gar3.jpg http://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y67...an/th_Gar2.jpg http://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y67...an/th_Gar1.jpg http://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y67...man/th_Gar.jpg http://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y67...n/th_Deck1.jpg http://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y67...th_DasBoat.jpg |
Great looking rig. Looks like you have it set up well.
How many people can you safely let shoot out of that rig at one time? Do you need a deck hand? |
Pretty neat Ron. Now are we going to be able to use it for a Flounder hunt at the coast, or maybe a Tilapai Tournament at Fairfield during the spawn next March?
Brian was telling me about a guy that had over 2000 shots one night on Tilapai. Some to Fry and some to Freeze. My kind of deal. Looks like a fun deal all the way around. One more year and I'll be free for that and Cotulla with that other outlaw named Ronnie. |
Great looking bowfishing rig Ron.

Nice Boat Mr. Collier
However, You need to put some lights on that bad boy, Night fishing is sooo much better than day fishing, especially if it is over 90 during the day (trust me, I know; Gibbons Creek) By the way, you need to come over to Gibbons creek or Conroe next spring CATFISH ARE LEGAL!!!!! |
