Looking for a good rangefinder?

I have an older Bushnell yardage pro. It is time to retire it and get a new one. I have looked at the Leopold RX-II and the Nikon Pro Staff 440. Any suggestions without spending to much more than $300.00?

I am using a Nikon and have had no problems what so ever.

nothing beats the naked eye. i know too many people that missed shots because they relied too much on thier range finder. just my .02 though.

I'm currently looking at the Nikon also, but like others have already said, get plenty of practice without a rangefinder and get good at judging distances...

I use the tools if they are available. I think you just might have a better chance of messing up the yardage without a range finder than with one. So why not use one? ;)

The Leupold RXII is a good choice. Great quality always comes from Leupold.

Playing golf off and on through the years has really helped judgeing distance through repitition. I still like to double check when hunting, never hurts to get a second opinoin.

I have the old busnell yardage pro 200. Do not really use it alot. Have pulled it out in CO, but never was needed. If for bowhunting, I don't think you really need to get one that goes out past a couple hundred yards, but then you may pick up the old longgun and want to take a long shot. I have not used mine out past 50 yards, other than just playing around. Bob

I just bought the Nikon from Cabelas. It was in the Bargain Cave!
