Bushpig bowhunt 2

We have a good population of bushpigs in our area that we keep on bait permanently. We decided to harvest some of them to bring some new genes, because of the over population in the sounder(group), and because they have great meat.

I arrived at the hide the previous night and stumbled on to them already feeding at the bait. The sounder spooked and never returned that night. We decided to go an hour earlier than the previous night and see what happens.

We prepared everything in the hide and started waiting within half an hour it started drizzling.Half an hour passed again and we decided to go, as it was getting very wet and cold, as I looked up towards the bait I saw the bushpig standing and feeding, without hearing it approach because of the wet grass. I anchored my sight behind the shoulder and let it off, the arrow followed through and the pig expired within 60yards with a double lung shot.!

Equipment:

Hoyt set at 80 pounds
Easton Axis 300 shafts
Montec broadheads
