Fellowship Hunt Equipment

Lets quantify the groups on hunting equipment (for trophy reasons) even though it is ALL archery...

hogslayer 03-03-2004 05:51 PM

OK I started this.....

Frontloader 03-03-2004 07:50 PM

Not sure at this time. But will come prepared to go either way. Probably.

Linedawg 03-03-2004 11:23 PM

Trad for me. It's the only way I can shoot. If I have to think about it too much my head hurts!

huntersteven 03-04-2004 04:07 AM

Compound for me, the heavier the better, with big heavy arrows and a massive heavy broadhead to slice through about 3/4 inches of grissle plate on that big hog I'm going to shoot. Actually a PSE Mach 8, set at 71 lbs, with the hatchet cams, 2317 XX 78's with 125 grain steelforce sabertooth fourblades. How's that for hog poison? Oh, and a red spot light for night hunting (hogs only).

2050z 03-04-2004 06:28 AM

PSE Thunderbolt LC

LostHawg 03-04-2004 06:52 AM

Louisville slugger and a sharp knife.

Great Plainsman Longbow (Brazillian Tulip with Osage and clear glass back and belly with a matte finish) 56#@29.5", POC arrows, Zwickey Delta and Ribtek broadheads. O'Brien Classic Recurve (yellow actionwood, gray actionwood and canary wood with clear glass back and belly - matte finish) 52#@29". Same bullets.

biggen 03-04-2004 07:22 AM

Trad only!

Chunky 03-04-2004 03:25 PM

hogslayer 03-04-2004 04:15 PM

hogslayer 03-05-2004 09:11 AM

Looks like a pretty even split to this thing.....interesting.....

hogslayer 03-09-2004 09:00 PM

where are the lurkers...it's a poll, you click the box that applies to you...

Tomme 03-09-2004 09:18 PM

Ben Pearson Colt and Mike Palmer bow - both recurves.

LostHawg 03-10-2004 06:53 AM

Tomme, didn't you have a real old Black Widow recurve? Do ya still shoot it? Seems I saw you with it at the Hill Country Shootout a couple/3 years ago.

hogslayer 03-10-2004 08:40 PM

Wheels and string taking a slight lead, I expected a greater divide. Glad for this information, do not see bowjunkie here yet, good news is We think he'll be joining us.

Okie 03-10-2004 10:11 PM

Traditional all the way. I primarily shoot my Black Widow SAIII, but I do have a long bow as well. I sold my compound just a month ago.

Tomme 03-10-2004 11:02 PM

I still have it Tracy. It's a Black widow "skeleton bow" with the metal middle riser and white limbs. Fun to shoot and accurate, but it only pulls 36 #. That's why I'm hunting with the others.

eqipment used on fellowship hunt (poll)

compound for me, got to try out my new mighty mite on something.

hogslayer 03-12-2004 09:10 AM

Where are the RNS team members? with 16 attending, they could sway this but wheels and strings are pulling away.

stump 03-13-2004 09:25 PM

poll

the rns team will all be compound shooters, or as we are commonly referred to as BS shooters.most of our group shoot the bowtech line. my 15 yr. old son just started shooting the ar34 and im quite impressed by the bow and his ability to catch on so quick,he'll be joining us in april for his first.

hogslayer 03-13-2004 09:48 PM

gotta have Spike fix that as I cannot add 13 to the counter but the compound shooters are running away here ......

Ronny 03-15-2004 01:54 PM

Hogslayer I think there are 19 or 20 of us lost count .Mailed 2 deposits today. All compound slingers and chunkers.

LostHawg 03-15-2004 04:27 PM

rns, YOU DA MAN!!!

Good job and keep up the good work.

stump 03-16-2004 07:55 PM

poll

losthawg, it want be had to tell when we arrive, it will look like the army rollin to bagdad.

Tomme 03-16-2004 09:16 PM

Dadgum it Stump...leave the tanks, mortars, tows, grenades, etc. at home this one is for bow and arrow only.

LostHawg 03-16-2004 11:00 PM

Gonna make me feel like I'm back in the service!! Brang it ON!!!

hogslayer 03-20-2004 08:35 PM

heck bring that heavy armourment, tomme cannot hit a thing and he may need it. His son John is a good shot so we need him to watch tomme and make the shot.

Tomme 03-21-2004 09:38 PM

I'm taping a couple of M-80 firecrackers to the end of my wooden arrows. If I don't hit the pig, maybe the shrapnel from the exploding broadhead will get him. Hey, we could then have a new saying..."Horshoes, hand grenades and Hogs.
