2005 BANQUET

Well the 2005 Banquet is booked. After numerous requests to have the banquet in a new location, as it had been in Kerrville for several years, this years banquet will be in Huntsville on March 12th.The location is
LaQuinta Huntsville
124 I-45 North
Huntsville, Tx. 77320
Phone 936-295-9245

They have given us discounted room rates for $58 until March 1st. You must reserve a room by the March 1st date to get the discounted rate.

Hopefully the move will drive some renewed interest in the banquet from the East Texas members for this banquet and we will look at other areas of the state for the '06 banquet.

Look forward to seeing all of you there

Tomme 11-06-2004 08:51 PM

Looks good Gary, and I like the price. Okay folks start saving your money to buy raffle tickets and some of those bagain hunts in the auction, not to mention beverages for me (coke or pepsi - I drink either :D )

biggen 11-07-2004 06:34 AM

Sounds good ! Tomme exactly what is a bagain hunt?!

Tomme 11-07-2004 03:07 PM

LOL. Well the hog hunt for six that went for $300 sure qualifies as a bargain. I think there was another for 4 people for about the same price. A bear hunt in Canada went for about $800 and a turkey hunt went for like $125. Those are such good buys that even as big a tightwad as you might bid on one.

BOBSTER 11-08-2004 09:07 PM

Will be looking forward to it. Tomme, stop telling everyone about how cheap the hunts went for. I will not be able to buy anymore it more people were to bid on them. Bob

2005 Banquet

I was wondering if the costs of attending the 2005 banquet have been set? :?: I am planning on attending.

Tomme 11-12-2004 12:50 PM

Doc the banquet tickets are typically in the $15-20 range depending on the cost. Of course many people also bring money for the (Sorry Bobby but it's for the good of the association) auction and for raffle tickets as there are usually a number of hunts and other good items in there as well.

Doc Dave 11-12-2004 02:08 PM

Thanks for the info. Hope to see you guys there. Huntsville is not that far :!:  from Hot Springs Village, Arkansas. Plus I may talk the wife into letting me get a hunt in while I am in Texas.

proforce99 11-12-2004 06:30 PM

Banquet tickets are $25 in advance or $30 at the door. Hope to see all of you there

Tomme 11-12-2004 08:27 PM

That's a little higher than it's been in the past. But then again I can remember cheap gasoline too. :(

T-Post 11-12-2004 10:03 PM

Tomme,
I am sure you can probably even remember$.05 cokes too!

Tomme 11-12-2004 10:18 PM

You bet I can! Though they were only 6 oz. Now the gasoline at $.17 a gallon, that was really something.

tsadler 01-20-2005 12:17 PM

I will be there! Then, on the 13th, y'all are invited to come to our 3D shoot in Bryan. California start 11 - 1.

tsadler 01-20-2005 12:19 PM

What time does it start, y'all?

proforce99 01-25-2005 10:01 PM

banquet hours

The doors will open at 12:00 until 5:00 for checking out the vendors that have tables there. Raffle tickets and merchandise will also be on sale at this time. From 5:00 until 6:00 will be social hour with the Banquet beginning at 6:00. We are starting 1 hour earlier than in the past to try to get done a little earlier with the auction. Hope to see everyone there.

Had some calls today about rooms for the banquet. Make sure you ask for the rooms for the Lone Star Bowhunters. They had some confusion with people asking for rooms for the LSBA and were told that they were booked up. Seems the rest of the motel is booked, so get your reservations done soon if you need a room.

loneeagle 02-04-2005 03:22 PM

As of this afternoon there were 15 rooms left in the LSBA block

Frontloader 02-04-2005 07:51 PM

Does anyone know if these rooms are discounted for LSBA and also how much are they?

Thanks.

Tomme 02-05-2005 01:23 AM

Frontloader, I believe that the LSBA rate is $58. They were going to charge me $85 and I said wait a minute that's not what I heard, so they changed it.

biggen 02-05-2005 07:31 AM

Tomme has always been dyslexic!!

Beleg 02-05-2005 05:27 PM

I've made my reservations. :D Don't wait till the last minute.

Frontloader 02-05-2005 06:21 PM

I am good to go! :D :D

Tomme. I hope you remember who I am. :?

If not, I will reintroduce myself. :P

Tomme 02-05-2005 08:19 PM

Ed I'd never Con Ya, though it still looks like CaneA to me.

Look forward to seeing you and that ugly brother of yours. Maybe we can bid him up on all the hunts again this year.

BOBSTER 02-06-2005 11:22 AM

Made my reservations yesterday. Now just have to send in the payment for the banquet. Look forward to seeing everyone again. Like Frontloader, with the new lease, I did not have time to make any of the LSBA hunts. I think this year, I will leave the bidding to Tomme and others, unless I just cannot pass it up.

Tomme 02-06-2005 09:31 PM

OK Bobster, we can book you and your wife for one of the small cabin's on the Spring Hunt. :D

Frontloader 02-07-2005 05:12 PM

Tomme

You are getting close. In another year or so, I may even have you spelling it correctly. :)

Also, Tomme, sell the Bobster a hunt where he can shoot something. If it wasn't for a blind pig without smelling abilities, he would have been skunked this season. I think that is right. If not, he will be on quickly to correct the mistake.

BOBSTER 02-08-2005 10:53 AM

I had no problem with the hogs, it was just the deer that I wasn't able to score with. Maybe I sould have said this different.

Tomme 02-09-2005 12:08 AM

Bobster, you couldn't score with the deer? That does sound rather wierd. Say you weren't the guy with the camo kilt they were talking about were you?

Phillip 02-11-2005 09:19 AM

Is Gene Wensel, that is giving the talk at the banquet, the same as Wensel Woodsman Broadheads?

Linedawg 02-11-2005 09:35 AM

Well, I got my reservations made for the hotel. I'm ready for all my raffle tickets to win this year!

Philip,
Yes that is the same Wensle. He and his brother Barry designed that head.

Linedawg 02-11-2005 09:36 AM

oops. That's Wensel, not Wensle.

bowjunkie 02-11-2005 12:10 PM

Linedawg....Actually Mike Sohm of Magnus Broadheads made the head originally for Biggie Hoffman, then the rights got sold to Gene. Little trad trivia for ya for when they ask ya on Jeopardy :D

ALso....just spoke to Hal Newsome at Cougar Run and he is going to park his kick butt Bowfishing rig outside the banquet and is throwing in a bowfishin trip for the auction. Boats in the range of 40K plus and is loaded....looking forward to skippin some arrows across the water with Tomme one night  He's also going to let us park the rig in the LSBA Booth at the Fishing show at the George R Brown to promote the LSBA and Bowfishing should we want. Sounds like a winner to me and I'd be willing to work the booth as it is just before the banquet. Any other volunteers?

Frontloader 03-10-2005 07:31 PM

Does anyone know if Barry Wensel's speech/program can be video taped?

I think it would be good for my video archieves if I can do so.

For those that know me and bowhunting, it is about the video. :)
