 Grunts and Gobbles Hunt Update

Ok boys and girls now that we have the javelina hunt out of the way we can move on to the FIFTH ANNUAL GRUNTS AND GOBBLES HUNT. We have a good group with 26 already booked, but we still have spaces left so if you want to make the hunt you still have a chance. Details are below, you can hunt turkey all day and since this is a full moon weekend, if you want to hunt hogs you can do it all night. As Brad Adams (Biggen) showed on the Javelina hunt at First Point, if he can get a hog, ANYONE CAN!

I think Michael needs to come on the hunt and dedicate some songs to the Cumby "Soggy Bottom Boys".
Anyone been practicing their 100 yard balloon shots? |

Make sure to get your T-shirt order in before March 28th and Tomme no they will not come in pink with yellow flowers!! :naughty:
	 |

How is the hunt conducted? I have never hunted turkeys but really want to try it - I don't know how to call (properly), my callin sounds like a turkey getting it's neck rung! Do we need to bring our own GB or blinds already set up?
	Thanks |

 Chongo,
You will need to bring your own ground blind or tripod(if hunting Hogs). When you arrive we draw for areas so everybody has an equal chance. There are some hunters there that would give you good advice. Just don't listen to any advice from the one called Tomme:blahblah:. |

Chongo, Biggen is just jealous of my superior bowhunting ability.
They run a corn route in the evening and some of us like to leave a trickle trail as well. It's a full moon weekend and you can hunt after dark for hogs. Some spot and stalk on the hogs and some use tripods or stands. For turkey it's best to use a pop up stand and if you have a turkey decoy you might bring it as well. I understand about your calling. My best chance at a turkey is to run up and shoot him after he falls down laughing listening to my call. |

Do ya'll have any kind of "big bird" pot that this hunt? My son and I will be down there and I'll build a turkey call and donate to the "pot" if this is something ya'l want to do.

Sounds good Jeff! Hopefully we will not need a raft this year!!

 Hey, thats my truck.:booboo:
	 |

Sounds like a real good time!
	 |

Row, row, row your TRUCK, gently down the stream.
Hopefully since we are going later this year the monsoonal rains will not hit us. We have about 30 down for the hunt at this time. |

As of March 31st we have 32 signed up for the hunt.
	 |

Tomme, mid April's when we usually get hit the hardest. :D
	 |

The Count down has begun!! Got your 100yd. pin set up?:err:

Is there a contact person I can call to get more information.
	Thanks |

TexasT...Yes there are still openings. Enough for a couple of small groups.
Anyone needing information feel free to email me at Tomme@Actkinson.net or call at 254-541-1146. This IS THE LSBA SPRING FELLOWSHIP HUNT. Rubber boots are recommended for the hogs. Hip boots or perhaps chest waders are recommended for the campfire discussions. |

We are up to 36. Nine spots left.

Is that based on the views he expresses around the campfire, or are you referring to swimming the river to salvage his truck?
	 |

A little bit of both maybe. Can't give him too much grief though, he's got a nephew that can sure pick a 6 string. ;)

You two boys are bad. :naughty:

Looks like we are going to have some good weather!! NO RAIN!!

Hey folks! I will be at this weekend's hunt and I'm thinking about bringing my tattoo equipment with me- Rusty is bugging me to tattoo him while I'm at the ranch this week. I'm wondering if there's any interest among y'all in getting tattooed this weekend. Lee B. mentioned that some people had asked him to bring his tattoo equipment if he was able to make the hunt. Unfortunately, Lee can't get away this weekend. So, I thought I'd ask around and see if there are any takers.
You can check out my work at my studio's (in Austin) website: www.BodyAdorned.com If anyone wants me to bring my equipment, please call me at 512-587-8651 and let me know what you might want. I'm leaving for Brushy Hill on Wed. morning to help Rusty out for the rest of the week- getting ready for this weekend- so, you'll have to call me tomorrow if you want me to bring my stuff. Sorry for the short notice, but Rusty just asked me this morning. So, this was the first chance I've had to get on here and post something. Looking forward to meeting y'all this weekend! Safe travels. Nick Anderson |

Tomme mentioned something about a BUFF&CHUNKY tattoo!!
