Well it's my turn. I went to the lease in Beeville to do some hog hunting!! I got situated for the sit when 6 or 7 Javi's showed up about 6:25. Since I got skunked on the L.S.B.A. javi/hog hunt at First Point I decided to take one because a friend of mine was doing a special mount with skulls and wanted a Javi. I made a good shot and saw where he went in and heard the crash that everybody likes to hear. It was early and I have a hog light on the feeder so I decided to sit! About 7:45 here comes the hogs I pick out a nice sow and let the arrow go. I sat back down and thats when I saw my tracer nock from the javi in the bush and it was moving. I thought what is going on, then some coyote howled in the distance and a coyote howled right where the javi was, so I jumped up and click on the flash light in that direction to try and scare him off. I hunt in a elevated box blind and by the time I packed up and got down the coyote had drug off the javi. I found my arrow and it was covered in blood and found where it was lying and there was allot of blood and hair but no javi. I looked around for another thirty minutes with nothing!! I gave up and started trailing the pig. She ran 60 yrds and piled up!! The picture shows the exit hole on a quartering away shot!! Last weekend another hunter on the lease lost two full hams on pig that he shot from coyotes because he also waited about an hour before he went to retrieve his pig. Looks like we will be doing some coyote hunting soon!!

Photoshop... :D
Man, that's too bad about the javie. Lay out a carcus and put some snares out for the yotes. That should do the trick. Good job on two bloody arrows Brad. ;) |
Hogs have left my place the last few weeks so I have had no luck. They should be back soon. Am going to a ranch with a bunch of old friends this weekend to stick a few hogs. Cant wait.

Two Corn thief's down...Saturday morning

I had a good hunt saturday morning, feeder went off about 7:00 and it sounded like a hurricane coming through the woods, we had about 30 pigs come in and just attack the feeder. 4 decent 60-70lb pigs and the rest were little footballs. I picked out the biggest pig (about 70lbs) and let the ole Diamond Marquise eat, she was no match for the slick trick, she ran and piled up about 60 yards away, perfect 12 ring shot, slightly quartered away. All the little ones scattered and slowly regrouped and moved as a black cloud tward the brush line, I reloaded and came to full draw just as one of em' stopped in a clear spot for a split second, TWACK, it was game over....I had Cliff Early behind the camera for what turned out to be a great morning hunt....That little guy ate real good, the only way to eat hog any fresher is to move the BBQ pit closer to the treestand.....I can't wait to get the video burned to DVD.....
