LostHawg 02-12-2009 09:17 AM

2 Brad, I'm bringing my 13 y/o. I've decided to leave my 16 y/o at home since he's going to California in June with the HS band and is having trouble in Pre AP Algebra II. (Funny how Algebra has changed since when I was in school. Its all like, strange to me now....)

Ronny 02-12-2009 05:27 PM

Ronny 02-15-2009 10:47 AM

Thats true Mitch, are you coming on the hunt:)

Tomme 02-15-2009 02:23 PM

So, it's past Friday. Is the check in the mail? If so, you have no problem.

mitch 02-15-2009 03:43 PM

yes I am, see you there

LostHawg 02-17-2009 09:43 AM

Tomme and Ronny
Are we still doing a raffle at the end of the hunt? I've been talking with Bob Lee Archery (web store; accessories) about a donation if we are. I'll also, maybe, go talk to Gary at the Outdoorsman. I've already given BLA; Gracie, a tax form. Just need to decide whether or what to go with...

Ronny 02-17-2009 06:17 PM

We will do some kind of raffle if we can get some stuff. Nice work Losthawg

biggen 02-17-2009 08:29 PM

Does that mean your coming Losthawg?
Which Bow you gonna bring!!

LostHawg 02-17-2009 10:50 PM

I'm only somewhat good with a longbow. Recurves and compounds don't seem to agree with me for some reason...

I fully intend to be 6 miles south of Sabinal first weekend of April.

engine 11 02-19-2009 08:54 AM

the choice of weapon dont make the hunter it only gives you a better chance to be successful, hell i do good to hit the block at twenty yards so up the money and show up....

mitch 02-23-2009 10:43 PM

so what is the count up to?

You know that's right. If I hadn't found what works for me, I'd probably still be looking for my first...

Dude, you're just sooo wrong... :D :banned:

Horitexan 03-07-2009 07:09 PM

Tomme-

Is there still room? I'm Rusty's buddy that runs the Brushy Hill website and I've been on the ranch the last few years during Grunts & Gobbles. I'd like to join the festivities, formally this year. Also, I'm trying to talk a few other guys into joining and going to the hunt. If you get a chance, send me an email (SouthTXBowhunter@Gmail.com) and let me know how much space you have left.

There are a TON of turkey running the ranch guys. I saw 2 huge flocks of gobblers (at one of my deer blinds) during the last few days of whitetail season- I stopped counting at 36 or 37 gobblers and I saw several other flicks of hens nearby that had 12+ hens in each one. And the hog hunting has been pretty good too. So, this year should be a productive one- IF people will stay OFF those dang 4-wheelers, LOL!

Looking forward to seeing everyone again this year! I wonder if Brad's going to dig another pit blind? I tried it during deer season and NOW I know how much work it took for him to build his, LOL!

Nick

Tomme 03-08-2009 11:27 PM

Nick we currently have 37 paid for the hunt, so there are still 8 spots left. Unless three groups of three sign up in the next few days it shouldn't be a problem.

Looks like many of the same folks as the previous years so that means

A. Someone wil get stuck in the pasture

B. Stricklands truck is likely to get flooded

C. No one will win the concrete pig

D. A good time will be had by all.

LOL

engine 11 03-09-2009 01:03 PM

kinda sounds like us stricklands mite need to bring more than vehicle or just plan on an extended stay.

biggen 03-09-2009 03:07 PM

Nick, I expect you to have that hole dug for me this time!!! :hot::)

Getting Closer!!

Tomme 03-16-2009 08:35 PM

Right about 40 on the count. Five spots left.

Yes, Stricklands definitely need to bring an extra vehicle. Also floaties, water wings and a Kayak. They'll be happy to see you this year though as it's a dry year.

engine 11 03-17-2009 12:33 PM

i heard rns has been taking some swift water rescue classes.....

biggen 03-17-2009 09:37 PM

Think we might have a different target to shoot, for the balloon shoot!! :D

Tomme 03-18-2009 10:44 PM

Oh good idea. Ronny in a swift water kayak towing (or was that holding a balloon?

Ronny 03-19-2009 06:46 PM

LostHawg 03-26-2009 09:59 AM

y'all have fun next weekend. :(

biggen 03-26-2009 10:20 PM

Not again lost.

LostHawg 03-27-2009 08:39 AM

You just don't know how hard it was to write "VOID" on that check... :madpc:

Tomme 03-28-2009 08:55 PM

If you'll start recycling your beer cans NOW you'll have enough money to pay for next year. That's the way Ronny does it.

On the shirt for Danny, larger is ok, but it still has to be pink.
