i dont like the back and forth either. you have too many different opinions on a public forum for that and everybody is right and you will never change their opinion.

i like to see facts and why lsba supports this issue and what direction they are trying to go and why. that way people can see the facts and make up their on mind.

some people believe lsba are against crossbows which i dont believe anybody is against them but they are NOT archery equipment.

government has a history of wording things where they can do what they want. if we let government call crossbow archery equipment we are in trouble.

to me a crossbows and a shotguns are in the same class with range and how they are used

i am on a bow only lease so it does not effect me(plus it is to dang hot to hunt in oct)

i just dont want to see the government pull a fast one

Good Post BARanch. While I adamantly oppose the inclusion of crossbows in the archery season except for those stipulations in the current regulations, I feel things got way out of hand on TBH. The LSBA has made major inroads with the TBH community of late and membership drives there have helped our numbers get back above 1,000 members. We have signed up the founder/owner and many of the moderators during that time. I feel this situation can only take from those gains.

As a long time poster on TBH, I have learned (the hard way) that there are some arguments best left off the debate table. The eventual escalation of emotions on subjects like high fences, expandable broadheads and the like always lead to the same place, a divided house filled with hurt feelings. Being in the LSBA puts a spotlight on all of us that may not be wanted but is nonetheless there. While I believe we should all support the principles that we hold dear, there is a fine line between conviction and ideal overkill. Pushing any argument past the point of practical explanation puts the audience on edge and drives the reader past the simple point of

Devin and Kevin, thanks for the kinds words and I am glad to see you posting on LSBA's website.

It is a fine line which we walk between our individuality and our representation of an organization, especially when the cause of the organization helps define who we are as an individual. I constantly find myself in that position.

TBH and Michael have been big supporters of LSBA over the past year and without them our membership numbers would not have risen to the current 1,088. LSBA owes Michael and many other TBHers, their friends and/or family and big thank you. I hope that the LSBA/TBH relationship can continue in the future. We must not forget that even though we disagree on some issues, we still are all bowhunters with the same common goal--to continue the heritage of bowhunting. We may have different ideas on how to reach that goal, but LSBA needs to listen to the majority.

Facts should be presented and an individual can take whatever action they believe is appropriate for their position on a particular issue. LSBA must follow the majority of the members' wishes and act accordingly. I must commend Devin for his support of the LSBA even though there are differences of opinion on some issues. Many people pick up their toys and run when there is a disagreement, but he has remained a supporter of the LSBA. Thanks, Devin!

I cannot control the things of the past in the LSBA, but I am always willing to listen, so the same mistakes are not made in the future. The future is looking much brighter for the LSBA and it is unfortunate that we have had some major hurdles occur this year that many times does divide an organization. I encourage all members to get involved and voice your opinions with respect to others. This is a very passionate subject and tempers tend to flare and words and feelings can be misconstrued on a forum.

The LSBA has reached so many kids this past year and introduced them to archery. To me, that is the most important part of the LSBA, to get bows in the hands of our future. Joey has be instrumental in building bows for kids and providing them free of charge. This says a lot about his passion for bowhunting and the future of our sport.

Because people that I respect have had different opinions than I do on certain subjects, I have found myself reading and researching to gain more knowledge in these areas, which will hopefully make me a better bowhunter and a more knowledgeable representative of our sport. One of the articles that I found from NRA Free Hunters entitled "The Humane Society of the U.S. and the Fund For Animals Merged, an They're...Burning Bows at Both Ends" contained a paragraph that has stayed with me since I've read it.

I hope that the realationship between LSBA and TBH is not harmed with this issue. I do not think that would be good for either group.... JMO.

The best thing that has happened on this debate is that it is over. IMHO.

Cull and Dena pretty well summed it up nicely.....as they always do.

Both sides got a little "out of hand", but both Guys showed a lotta class by admitting they made mistakes.

I still have the greatest Respect possible for both Devin and Joey.
Joey for giving so much time and money to the effects of LSBA.
And Devin for being the most respected Moderator on TBH.

I know this is off topic from this whole discussion. I can't read anything on the TBH site cause I am banned from the usage of there messaging forum. So I have no idea what was being said. Although I am curious. I think the LSBA is a great thing. You guys reach out to the kids with out them we would have nothing. You guys stand your ground involving all kinds of issues. My hat is off to you guys. I am looking forward to the shoot in July.
