Well my first hunt won't be until Oct 10th-12th. Going on a management hunt in Coleman County. I have been scouting the Hagerman and found several nice stand locations. I'm not finished scouting though. Need to make sure I get a nice place that won't see to many other hunters. :D

Good luck to everybody.

Sp!ke,

I'll see your doe and raise you a turkey. Great weather in Eden, TX and everyone in my group took home meat.

SP!KE 09-30-2003 04:01 PM

Nice hand there, DoubleJ!

biggen 09-30-2003 08:42 PM

Spike I'm glad you spoke up because I was thinking if he really didn't want to kill something, I could take his spot a Brushy Hills during the rut! Of course you could watch Bowjunkie!! :P

Tomme 09-30-2003 10:05 PM

No, No, I'll flip you for his spot (probably off of a cliff). So when is our rut hunt out there?

bowjunkie 10-01-2003 10:52 AM

LOL....Guess I brought that one on myself  Pretty good ZING there brother...lol.

I had cracked a bottle of 12 year old Jameson Distillery Reserve given to me by my Grandfather in 1987. He passed away 3PM EST on Monday and when I got the word it seemed fitting....I quit drinking hard liqour about that time and just saved the bottle for a special occasion. Guess I was a little PWI (posting while intoxicated) when I made that post, but I had been reminiscing as he was the one who introduced me to hunting.

So no...the PETAphiles did not get a hold of me over the weekend....lol. But I guess I have mellowed somewhat and do place more importance on the experience of the total instead of the singular of the kill like I used too and like he did as well when he got older.

Sorry for the lose Bowjunkie, my grandfather taught me allot about the great outdoors also. He passed to the hunting in the sky in 94'. :(

Mike, email sent to Kim's addie on Grandpa. Deed is done.

As for the hunt, finally got to go at Ft Hood yesterday. All I saw was a vicious squirrel that stopped on a limb three feet away and looked at me like I was a nut...I mean really... he had that feral, hungry look about him....Are there any reports of weresquirrels in Central Texas this close to Halloween?

Well isn't that charming?

SP!KE 10-01-2003 09:46 PM

Looks like somebody's tryin' to get their post count up! Either that, or they like looking at themselves.

Tomme, I think the squirrel was just figurin' out what we've know all along. You are a nut.

bowjunkie 10-02-2003 07:52 AM

Tomme,

Set the bottle down gently and slowly back away from it and the keyboard:lol:

JPaul 10-02-2003 08:46 AM

Mike, I can identify with the granfather. I lost my lifetime hunting buddy in 99. He was 94. He had quit hunting about 5 years before that, but still lived the hunt vicarously threw my reports. He eagerly awaited my updates each and every time I returned.

Sp!ke I'll secong the nut case. Sorry Tommy but I got to agree with the rest.
