Thanks for the update and sorry about the poor outfitter.

In my opinion the oufitter busted his butt to make this hunt a great hunt it just didnot work out do to things that he could not control like the weather and the animals. If I would have had a Muledeer tag I would have tagged out on deer the first or second day. I had to work my butt off to get the Elk I was able to take and I enjoyed every second it took and every mile I had to walk.

I can only assume you have not been on very many outfitted hunts.
The land we hunted had never been scouted. We pretty much hunted 4 hunters for 1 guide all week. When our guide told Kevin there were no Elk on the place we were hunting he just kinda shrugged it off. We spent 4 days setting by a fence listening to Elk on the next ranch over. 11 hunters in a camp that we were promised would not have over 6. When I asked him about it he told me they were repeat customers that came every year so he couldn't turn them down. I asked them about it and they said they had never been there before. Hauling my son to a bar and refusing to bring him back to camp was pretty much the deal breaker for me.

Can you send me a picture of your Elk for my web site?

Brian forgot to mention taking us to school on the long distance shooting.

You bet send me your email and I will send it right to you.

So much for our first Live Hunt. It took me 45 minutes to get online and make that first post. After that I could not get a signal to stay up. Marty had a carrier that could get him online without issues. So much for AT&T and more bars in more places.

I hunted hard for elk 2 days and deer for 3. Completely blew a shot on a nice muley and had a doe duck the arrow at 50 yards. I had a blast though! It was great fun hanging out with Marty, Mark, Stoney, Brian and Bale. Met a great guy from Canada on his very first vacation and plane trip. My grouse was delicous! I love being in he mountains!

No one has asked for my opinion on the outfitter...so I will keep it to myself.

You know I almost talked myself into going with y'all... Almost. Guess its a good thing we went broke going to Alabama.

But, you go to CO on an elk hunt and a deer and chicken hunt breaks out?

Glad I didn't make it...

Some of us had our bases covered on almost every angle.

Glad you were able to get on some deer. Those big old grouse and pheasants were a road hazard when I lived in SD.
