Every year the City of Farmers Branch holds Liberty Fest on Memorial weekend. This year the Liberty Fest Outdoor Expo is May 26th near the municipal building off of Valley View Lane in Farmers Branch. The LSBA will be sponsoring the Youth Archery Range and volunteers are needed. The hours are from noon to 5:00 pm.

Free Youth Hunt

The LSBA and First Point Ranch will be offering a free youth hunt.Kids 16 and under can enter the drawing. We will take 10 kids on this hunt. Parent or child must be a member of LSBA. You will be allowed 1 buck, 1 doe, hog and java.
The hunt will take place Oct.19,20 and 21 2012
To enter send me a 3x5 post card with the childs and parents name, phone number and email if you have one.
Deadline is JULY 15.

Ed Foreman Essay Contest

How do I put this... ummm... WOW!

I just read some outstanding essays! These kids really did an excellent job in this essay contest. The only bad thing is, only one essay can win. I could throw all the names in a hat and draw a winner, they are all that good! This is gonna be a tough decision. But, I have a plan!

I plan on reading all the entries again, then I will pick what I think are the top 5. Not gonna grade spelling or grammer as much as the content. Once I pick 5, I would like to send those essays to 3 "judges" the judges will not know the writers name, just essay #?. Those three judges will pick their favorite essay and notify me of their picks. Out of those top 3 essays, I will have secret mystery judge pick the winner.

With that being said, I need three volunteers. If your kid or u know a kid that sent in an essay, I ask that you not volunteer to be a judge.

The LSBA and Texas Parks and Wildlife need your help!!!!!

We need volunteers to help with the Archery Range at May Fest!!!!!!

Come out and help us to teach others how to enjoy our sport. We will have about 2000 kids and adults come through the archery range over the course of 4 days. Many of these have never had a bow in their hand.

Volunteers are asked to be there for 2 to 3 hours.

May 3rd & 4th
5pm - 7pm

May 5th
10am -7pm

May 6th
11am - 7pm

In other parts of the world they talk of April showers bringing may flowers. We had a lot of March showers and the bluebonnets have been out in force! It�s time to shower some foam with arrows!

The weather�s been sunny and cool, perfect for some fine family fun! Let�s get together and do it!

We will start heading to the targets in groups at 11 AM, show up earlier and start warming up in the range behind the shop! Card turn in at 3 PM, awards at 4 PM!

In Center Point, TX, traveling on Hwy 27
At the flashing light, turn onto FM 480 (basically South)
Cross Verde Creek Bridge TWICE, then hard left.
Proceed 3.0 miles and turn LEFT onto Witt Road E
Proceed 0.3 miles and turn LEFT onto Witt Road
Camp Verde Outpost Ranch, 275 Witt Road is just over 0.4 miles on your right.

If you hit #173 turn around you missed the Witt Rd Exit,look for Witt Way

Between Bandera and Kerrville, traveling on Hwy 173
A few hundred yards south of Verde Creek, turn onto FM 480 (basically East)
Proceed 2.7 miles and turn RIGHT onto Witt Way
Proceed 0.3 miles and turn RIGHT onto Witt Road

Camp Verde Outpost Ranch, 275 Witt Road is just over 0.4 miles on your right. Look for Texas Flag, Green Gate & Green mailbox.
