These guys don't like to hang around long when someone approaches. I took these out the window of my truck coming down a county road yesterday evening.

I just finshed and placed a nice wood base for my Ameristep blind constructed of 4X4's & 1X12's. Weighed almost 80lbs when I was finished, I'm a big guy so It takes a strong base. I also sealed all the gaps with clear silicone to keep out any unwanted visitors

Sweet pics, Bill! They sure are beautiful snakes! I saw my first coral snake in the wild on the way to my stand last year.

Thanks Dena and indeed they are beautiful. While they have deadly venom it is hard for them to get to us with the tiny mouths.

Bill, I would love a coral snake hatband! keep that in mind the next time you run into one of those cute little thangs. :)

THX for not killin it!
I came home Monday and there was a 2 ft rattler in my garage. Mice like to get in the corners away from the hawks and snakes follow em in. I walk to the side door and the little guy gets all pissed off. He starts "jumping" and striking at me. He covered 6 ft in three Jump strikes faster than I've ever seen a rattler do. I grab my 9 iron and putter and subdue the little fart, Put him in my snake *birdcage* and take him for a long drive.

This guy was too aggressive to release in a area with any dogs/people. Took him deep and did some scouting while I was at it.

Again, kudos on the pic!

I saw my first about 3 years ago: I'll be 44 next month. They are some brightly painted snakes, that's for sure.

Let's see how does the old boy scout rhyme go.

Red and Yellow
Run like Hellow. (or maybe it was Kill a fellow. I forget.)

I was once hunting in an improvised brush blind on Ft Hood and had a pretty good copperhead slither by my right leg. I still have the world record in the seated high jump.
