Ok, who's going to make it to the LSBA beach party? Some have already let me know, but I need a head count. If you want a T-shirt, I also need your money? Here's some details:

1st Annual LSBA Beach Party

July 13-15th Rockport, TX

Blue Wave Beach-Fishing-SiteSeeing-Fish Dinner-Fellowship

We'll meet at Rockport's Blue Wave Beach Park-This is the only certified Blue Wave Beach in the state of Texas. It's a clean, family friendly beach, and is a great place to catch some rays or cast a net for mullet for free bait.

Fishing - Bring your boat or fish from the pier at the park. Rockport has some great fishing for Redfish and Speckled trout. You can cook it for supper or take it home.

Site Seeing - The chamber of commerce puts out a card with 51 things to do in Rockport. You'll never get them all in one visit, but lots of things to see and do. You can shop till you drop or simply chill (heat up) with other LSBA ers on the beach.

Free Family Fish Fry on Saturday Night - Here's a chance to feed your crew, and it won't cost you a dime. Oh we probably will have a donations jar out there, but we don't care if make a dime. Bring your eager eaters and come on down. If the fisherman bring something in, it may be the freshest fish you'll ever eat, otherwise we're going to H.E.B.

Bowfishing - This is more of fellowship get together than anything else, but you might consider bringing your bowfishing rig (or borrowing one from Tomme) and trying your luck for a trophy mullet. You have a good chance of making the record book and you can enter it in the record book that weekend. There has also been talk of doing some night fishing for flounder on Saturday night after the fish fry. If there is a group that wants to do that, I'll tell you where to go.

For lodging there are state parks for camping up to luxury hotels and houses, but you need to get in a reservation. One option large groups might like would be to share a house. These can be rented from the day to the week.

It should be a fun weekend. Hope to see you there.

T-shirts have to be pre-ordered. To order your FIRST ANNUAL BEACH PARTY T-shirt send $15 along with your shirt size to

Jonathan is coming and is bringing a new member to sign up.

I've told Jon that he can take out my bay boat, so if you want to go fishing with him, you might want to look him up. The boat is 22' long and has a 200 horse Johnson on it. The good news is that he is a lot more mechanical than I am and doesn't break down in the middle of the bay nearly as often.

I should make it down by............oh wait a minute, I'm already here :D . I'll be at the park for a couple of hours Friday night with the LSBA banner to hoist a brew with any early arrivals.

There's a big grill smoker at our pavillion, but we need a propane deep fryer or two. Is anyone bringing one?

I'll have mine there and I believe Brian and Ronnie were bringing theirs. Do we have an estimated head count? We'll need to know about how much beans and stuff to get. A good guess on fish is about a 1/2 to 1lb per person.

I am going to bring 2 fryers. Can never have too many.

Tomme - You throwing back brews???? I would have never guessed!! 8)

I'll be coming with my family (4 of us total).

Also accompanying me will be 3 members of my extended family: Tink Nathan (AfricanBowhunter) and Mickey Maulding (The Royal Shaft) and his wife. So that will be a total of 7 of us.

For those of you who are Bowfishing, I'd like to offer my "filming services" at no cost other than to allow me to film you! I haven't had a chance to film some bowfishing as of yet, and would like to take advantage of this oppertunity if possible.

I'm more than willing to send you a copy of the final cut once it's completed also! Please shoot me an email if you would like to volunteer as a film superstar during the Beach Bash :)

I am in no way shape or form responsible if my ugly mug brakes your camera!!!!

Don't worry, if the women of Alabama & Georgia didn't break it this past weekend, there is no way on earth that your going to break it. If your interested in seeing what I mean, I'll have to send you a link privately. I'd hate for those under the age of 30 to see what I had to film....I mean go through for the last 2 weeks :)

God I love Texas :)

Will there be anyone else who will be bowfishing?

Right now I have Bullrdr82, Chunky, and Melissa & Alexis (my 2 women want to try it).

Any other takers?

Tomme

I think that Brian is planning on it. Also my son Jonathan will probably give it a try. Depending on what I have to work on (and my level of sobriety) I might give it a try too.

How many boats do we have available. Anyone brave enought to ride with Jon can go out in my Blue Wave. Just make sure you've signed the liability release first. He drives like his mother. :P :P :P

There was a question about camping. Do you mean RV or pop up type camping or tent? I've never tried either place, but there's Goose Island state Park and I think I know of a tent campground here in Rockport. Let me know if you still need me to check.

On the fish, I've got several bags I've been saving. If too many people show up and we don't catch enough, H.E.B. is right down the road.

You can camp in my backyard for FREE!!

Coach you're quick on the posts. Thanks for the pictures too as I left my camera at home.

Fishing was lousy due to the wind and all the rains we'd had in July. This area has recorded over 13" so far this month which is an all time record for July. Water was murky and pretty windy for fishing. My son Jon and new LSBA member Matt did harvest some specks and a few gafftop which went into the common (or make that uncommonly good) fish fry.

Mark Johnson (Chunky) and I did take my boat out in Salt Lake (which is a tributary of Copano Bay in an effort to arrow a mullet or two, but water was so cloudy that we never stood a chance. We gave it up in favor of the chopped beef bar-b-q special at the beach.

The fish fry on the beach was a lot of fun. I heard a few stories I'd never heard before and got to meet the better half for some of uglier EC members. All told we had 32 people show up despite the weather and they gobbled the fish, fries and slaw about as fast as Steve, Brandon and Clint could cook it. We also picked up two new (old) members and will probably get a third.

Lots of work, but lots of fun as well.

bowfishing was impossible, but the company was good. Thanks to those who did the work to make it happen. I did not do my share and will try to make up at the next event.

I finally got a chance to get on the puter for a bit.

I had a great time and other than biggun giving me a hard time the cooking was no problem. I enjoyed it and the company was great. Besides, the cooks are always the most popular folks at a fish fry! Even if the natives were restless!

Thanks for posting the pics Coach it was good meeting you and your family. The same is true of everyone that was able to make it.

I have some pics that I took, but will have to email them to someone... I have yet to figure out posting pics on here. I guess I should pay more attention to what Joey has to say.... :D :D :D

I will get them up as soon as I can.

Brandon I believe the only way to post them here is to have them posted on another host site first.
