So what is your thoughts on shoot through mesh? I shoot a Mathews Heli M 26 1/2 inch draw, 60 lbs, 100 grain steel force broad head 400 grain arrow.

I use mesh on my blinds with no problem. You just need to make sure that it is stretched tight. Shooting that set up should not have any problems. I am not sure what a mechinal head would do out of mesh.

We've used Doublebull and Ameristeps for the past 14 years or so, have never had a problem with them impacting arrow flight.

The mesh should be stretched tight in most hub blinds, the only exception being the Doublebull Matrix (I assume Darkhorse too) where the mesh never seemed to get tight.

Like you, I was concerned, so I asked John (Doublebull's Customer Service chief before the Primos buy-out) when the Matrix first hit the streets. He told me the Matrix' mesh was intended to hang 'straight and loose'.

You're welcome.

One caution to consider, while the mesh WON'T impact arrow flight, be sure you're clear of the fiberglas rods on the hubs. I learned that lesson the hardway a bunch of years ago. The noise of the deflection startled me and the deer; fortunately nothing was hurt but my pride as I watched the arrow fly well over and beyong my target.

One suggestion too: Forget the CAMO and 'ninja up'. Wear black (or dark) outerwear, gloves and headnet, sit in the back half of of the blind and be totally amazed at how clsoe they'll pass.

Good luck, post pictures.

I know people who've had arrow flight issues shooting through the same mesh that I did despite the fact that I had no issues what so ever. When I mentioned it to my pro shop buddy, he said that you will always have issues with arrow flight and shoot through mesh if your bow's not tuned well. Never hurts to stick a 3D target for practice.

Oh yeah, and I use the cheap stuff: fiberglass window screen from Lowes. Works like a charm.
