This is a 3 year old we were going to let grow for a couple more years. About 30 days before season he foundered so he was put on the hit list. Friday afternoon I seen him cross a hill close to where I was hunting. I bailed out of the stand and the stalk was on. I got to 58 yards and was stuck, I ranged him again 58, I can't get any closer. I took a deep breath and drew settled my pin on him and let down, did not feel right. He took one more step forward, I drew again settled my pin and it felt good, touched the release and watched the arrow hit its mark. It looked like slow motion, he never moved til the arrow hit him. I could see blood pooring as soon as the arrow hit, he went about 40 yards.
