I need some good outdoor/nature/wildlife photos to use for covers and to compete with the last two covers for the photo of the year award at the Banquet.

Please make the file as large as possible and I think Roger said they need to be 300 dpi??? Is that right, Roger?

Yes, a minimum of 300 DPI will give the photos better quality for printing. Size will then take care of itself. Anything submitted for cover should be even more dots per inch.

Maybe you can do something with this.

I'll try to take my camera out this weekend.

Could we have a little more info on what it takes to make the 300 DPI?

What megapixel camera is needed or what resolution?

Or any additional terms to help me understand.

Don't expect all of us to know everything. Some of us are slow learners or in my case, have CRS. So I am constantly having to relearn everything. :)

Roger will have to field that one FL...but he did tell me that my cheapo 2.1 megapix camera will do it.

I have a Sony P72 and even the lowest pixels, 640x480, are taken at 300 DPI. Here is how to check your photos:

1. Find the folder on your PC and locate your photo.
2. Right click on your photo and select "properties".
3. Click on the "summary" tab.
4. Verify the "horizontal" and "vertical" resolution says 300.

This is good news because the 640x480 pix are easier to email. Smaller files. This will be good enough for the inside photos. Anything submitted for the cover should be taken with more pixels, 1M or more.

Clear as mudd?
