Anyone gotten the FALL issue yet? I've yet to get mine?

I spoke with the Publisher early Monday and they told me it had gone out, just wondering if anyone else has a copy yet?

Yeah he is. I really like the cover he did with Mark (Chunky) and his muley. That was definitely gonna be a hard one to top.

Thanks guys. I got my copy but haven't been able to post or check e-mails for a couple of days...Comcast has been 'hit & miss' for awhile for me but this week it's been more miss!

Tracy, all I really do is select the photo for the cover...and I have consulted with either Roger or Tomme on both our photo selections so far. Roger does a great job of putting together the cover and selecting which articles to 'highlight' on the cover. Roger also selects the fonts for the article's headlines...in general, if something looks 'amiss' in design or layout, I did that and Roger didn't have time clean it up for me.

Hopefully I will be able to srart a couple of threads related to the magazine tonight...if this connection holds up.

Well last issue I was one of the first to receive one. Guess this time I will be one of the last. :(

You would think I would be first every time since I am less then 10 miles from the print shop. I think. :?

...I'm only human.

I fell asleep before 9pm last night and never made it back to the 'puter to even see if I was online or not...just got of work today (second Sunday in a row!...I need to go huntin'). I'll post those threads after I cook venison & shrimp fajitas!

Spell check, proof, submit...:P

Phew!!!

I got it.

Once again, the magazine staff did an outstanding job.

BUT...

We need more stories. We need ALL bowhunters within the LSBA involved in the magazine. Traditional, Compound, Sellfbow, those shooting barebow compound, those shooting sighted recurves, every member who pays their dues, needs to know this is about THEM, US, not just a tight knit group in a remote corner of Texas trying to entertain a select few. Oh, more pictures too. Not necessarily of the game taken, but of members doing what bow hunting members do in the field, on the range and in the preparation for both.

I really liked Elvis's article (I am a Tradbow dude ya know). Thanks Elvis.

We've got some real potential here. We need to make the best of it.

I hear you Tracy. I wish I had more stuff in the magazine myself...I also wish I had more stories to work with on a monthly basis. I have published every article that has been sent to me and thus far, only have three going into the WINTER ISSUE...and I am writing one of those.

I still need some members to write regular features and some to contribute "artsy" type photos for covers of wildlife, nature, bowhunting tackle, etc... I'll start a few 'idea' threads and see if anyone is interested.

I am going to be able to add a "Trophy Room" page for member's photos for the first time as I have a handful of photos to run...but still got room for more!

Anyway, we are still very much a work in progress toward where we want the magazine to be...first we gotta make some room for some advertising and then add more pages to each issue...there might be some "growing pain" issues but we are getting our ducks in a row for the future.

Any of you guys get yours today?

The hold up on delivery has to be the postman. The mags were mailed out 10/20.

I CAN think positive can't I?

Sure you can, Tracy! You know what they say about the power of positive thinking......worth more than two in the bush? Wait, not supposed to mix metaphors!

Judging by the posts on TBH, we did pick up quite a few members. All of the LSBA members on TBH have done a great job of encouraging membership.

Got it today (friday). Another great job guys...thanks a ton for including my story.

I love that pic with the two boys in the bottom middle of the essay contest add. Too cool.

I liked Elvis's article, very well written. It almost made me want to shoot that awful pecan board bow I made...almost :D

I've got mine too. Again thanks for all the hard work.

STORIES AND PICS, STORIES AND PICS. EDITOR ALWAYS COULD USE MORE OF EACH AND THE MORE WE HAVE THE BETTER IT WILL BE./

Everyone please also note that there is a nomination blank in there. We really need folks willing to step up and serve on the EC as Regional Representatives so if you know someone from your area that you feel would do a good job, please talk to them and then nominate them.

Bowjunkie I guess you don't get an issue, because no one loves you (even the mailman :P ).
