Ha! That's a good video Derek. I recognize those sheep....they had just come from my stand.
Actually, the deer movement was so slow I kind of enjoyed the sheep visits. Didn't feel quite so.....alone. :D

I got more footage of sheep than I did of deer thats for sure. Hey it's all good, I had a blast down there on the hunt. I did see some deer, but they were just a little smarter than us on that trip. Wish I would have remembered to charge a battery Saturday evening so I would have had the camera rolling when I took that shot Sunday morning. Even though it was a miss, I think it would have made a pretty good video. At least it would have shown how wired the deer were down there.

I had a blast down there, too. I think I'd have seen more deer if I had hidden my blind a little better. I'm so used to setting it up out in NM and have the mule deer all over me....I thought it would be the same with the whitetails.
What kind of camera rig do you use to make the videos? Do you set it up on a tripod? I'm not much into cameras and photography but that looks like something I'd like to try out.

I used what was there for cover or stands. I've never hunted from a popup blind, and all of the stands I have are meant for the trees in East Tx. If I'm not hunting from a treestand, I've always liked to make a brush blind to hunt from. Something that uses the natural cover, especially if I plan on using it the same day. I was in such a setup Saturday morning when I had that doe at 10 yards. Just forgot to check my blind for drawing my bow and it cost me that morning.

My camera is an older Panasonic that takes the mini DVC cassettes. It only has a filming time of 60 minutes. I bought one of those flexable tripods for it so I could wrap the legs around branches and stuff to set it up. The only problem I've found is when you are by yourself if the deer don't come where you aim the camera it's hard to move it for a shot. Now in a blind, you would have more freedom to move it some. I'm just getting into doing some filming, might have to upgrade my equipment, if the Boss lets me......;)
