The Big Buck Contest is still being held, BUT with some changes.:

Entry Fee of $25.00 - Cash, Check, or Money Order payable to TBBR

Your registration and entry fee must be received two weeks prior to harvesting the animal.

Buck must be a minimum gross score of 130 Pope & Young (green score) to be eligible for the award.

One jacket will be awarded. The LSBA BIG BUCK Contest jacket will be awarded to the person with the highest gross scoring buck. The jacket will include score, year, and name on the jacket.

Applicant does not have to be a LSBA member to enter the contest.

The jacket will be awarded at the Annual LSBA Awards Banquet.

Bucks must be taken within the boundaries of Texas and must be officially scored by a certified measurer of the Texas Big Game Awards, Pope and Young, Boone and Crockett, or TBBR (LSBA).

Eligible entrants must have a complete and signed official score form with one picture of the harvest, and must be received by the contest headquarters no later than February 15th.

All qualifying entries must be entered into the Texas Bowhunting and Bowfishing Records (TBBR) after the required 60 day drying period from date of harvest.See Entry Requirements

All bucks entered into the contest must be taken with bow and arrow only, and within the Rules of Fair Chase, as defined by the Texas Bowhunting and Bowfishing Records (TBBR), of the Lone Star Bowhunters Association.

Entries taken with crossbow, and or, any bow equipped with any type of draw locking device will not be accepted.

Questions and information can be directed to Ron Collier, TBBR Records Chairman, phone: 830-278-2828 or E-mail: rcollier001@stx.rr.com

So, if I understand the rules correctly....a buck that is killed in Neberaska that you missed a couple of times before getting....would not qualify?

Right Chunky, but it's the Nebraska part that would invalidate his entry. Now he can miss bucks in Texas 4 or 5 times (and probably will) and still have a chance.
