Brad, I shot 3 shots off a ********* bow and the arrows disappeared. I found 2, but the 3rd... I've been looking everywhere for that arrow. Teach me to stick with what I'm good at..... :hammerhead:

I just don't know how you guys do it... :err:

If you repeat any of this I'll deny it... :D

Bring back lots of pics...

Come on man, I gave you the perfect opportunity to give me grief and that's the best you can do? :D

I'm going to try to go get some rabbits Thursday after work with my bow. I have GOT to take a walk in the woods. This city dwelling's getting to me...

Kelby shot a nice blackbuck on Monday. Here are some pics. She is very Buff like and considers him one of her close friends and mentors...so I hope that counts.

We were at Double Arrow, where Curtis always treats us right.

You almost had that right Losthawg, it is my other daughter that put a beat down on the boy at the lease.

Kelby is a great hunting partner, but she is sweetheart and not really a fighter. I will pass on your congrats to her.

The taxidermist promised me that Kelby's fallow will be done in the next couple of weeks, giving me time to get it scored for this years banquet. Blackbuck will be for 09 so we have a year to worry about that one.

Mark, tell Kelby that blackbuck is awesome. Way to go GIRL, YOU ROCK. Kelby and David, make sure ya'll bring your animals to the banquet so that they can get scored for TBBR. They all should be over their drying period by then. Bob

Well, I get to ad to the post finally. I went out this evening hoping to get a pig for a friend, and hoping in return to get a few tamales. Made it to the stand just right after the feeder would have went off if it still had corn in it. I decieded to stick in out because I saw some new sign on the way in and was hoping the the feeder has not been out that long. I hand threw out my corn and climbed into the stand. Finally after about 45 minutes the coons showed up. Figured if they are still coming around, the corn must not have been out that long then. I picked out a real big male that I would shoot if the hogs were a no show. Then after about 20 minutes of watching coons and getting my blunt ready, they all stood up and then took off. Only one thing scares the coons away like that. My four sows and their 8 little ones come in and start eating. I start looking them over trying to figure out which one I want to kill, and deciede that the biggest needs to stay and I would try for one of the second largest. The whole time, I am really hoping that the big boar would show up and make my decision for me. After he was a no show, and the corn is almost gone, I take my shot, which looked perfect. The sow jumped, and turned and walked off and stopped at about five yards away. I thougt for sure she was down for the count. The other sows and little ones just kept eating. I got another arrow ready just in case the boar was going to show now. After about twenty minutes and after the hogs left on their own, I went over to claim my prize, no prize to be found. Enough blood that a blind man could follow, but still no pig. I tracked her through the thickest rose hedges that she could go through. I was down on my knees crawling hoping that she was dead around every bush. I finally made it up to her and she was still alive. I sat watching, because I did not take anything into the bush with me if I needed to kill her. All the other hogs were running around in there while I had been looking for her. She finally passed, and now was the job of trying to get her back out. I flagged my way to a canal that was behind my stand several hundered yards and then I needed to find my way back to the stand. I tried crawling my way back out the same way I came in, but then lost the trail when I reached a opening and thought I was home free. OH, did I mention it is dark also. By now my flashlight is going out so I call for back up. Hot4huntin is on her way. I let her know to wait at the gate until I find my way out, if I find my way out. I finally made it out to a road that is now closer to her stand than mind, but at least I know where I am. I get to the gate, and wait for H4H to show. We make in down the canal and then go in to retrieve the sow and drag her out. Everything went well with the flagging and finding her and then finding our way back out. After everything was done, I forgot to get any LDP. The sow was well over a 100 lbs and is going to be plenty of meat for tamales being that she was in great shape. Sorry for such a long read, but I guess I was excited about killing something finally. Next time there will be pics, but I will show you one of the girls while they are alive. Bob

Well it's my turn. I went to the lease in Beeville to do some hog hunting!! I got situated for the sit when 6 or 7 Javi's showed up about 6:25. Since I got skunked on the L.S.B.A. javi/hog hunt at First Point I decided to take one because a friend of mine was doing a special mount with skulls and wanted a Javi. I made a good shot and saw where he went in and heard the crash that everybody likes to hear. It was early and I have a hog light on the feeder so I decided to sit! About 7:45 here comes the hogs I pick out a nice sow and let the arrow go. I sat back down and thats when I saw my tracer nock from the javi in the bush and it was moving. I thought what is going on, then some coyote howled in the distance and a coyote howled right where the javi was, so I jumped up and click on the flash light in that direction to try and scare him off. I hunt in a elevated box blind and by the time I packed up and got down the coyote had drug off the javi. I found my arrow and it was covered in blood and found where it was lying and there was allot of blood and hair but no javi. I looked around for another thirty minutes with nothing!! I gave up and started trailing the pig. She ran 60 yrds and piled up!! The picture shows the exit hole on a quartering away shot!! Last weekend another hunter on the lease lost two full hams on pig that he shot from coyotes because he also waited about an hour before he went to retrieve his pig. Looks like we will be doing some coyote hunting soon!!

Photoshop... :D

Man, that's too bad about the javie. Lay out a carcus and put some snares out for the yotes. That should do the trick. Good job on two bloody arrows Brad. ;)

I had a good hunt saturday morning, feeder went off about 7:00 and it sounded like a hurricane coming through the woods, we had about 30 pigs come in and just attack the feeder. 4 decent 60-70lb pigs and the rest were little footballs. I picked out the biggest pig (about 70lbs) and let the ole Diamond Marquise eat, she was no match for the slick trick, she ran and piled up about 60 yards away, perfect 12 ring shot, slightly quartered away. All the little ones scattered and slowly regrouped and moved as a black cloud tward the brush line, I reloaded and came to full draw just as one of em' stopped in a clear spot for a split second, TWACK, it was game over....I had Cliff Early behind the camera for what turned out to be a great morning hunt....That little guy ate real good, the only way to eat hog any fresher is to move the BBQ pit closer to the treestand.....I can't wait to get the video burned to DVD.....
