A 3-D Committee has been formed to revise and enhance the rules and regulations for the LSBA 3D Regionals and State Shoot. Any and all suggestions are welcome and will be considered by this committee to try to make the shoots better for all. The Committee consist of Mack and Peggy Casey, Bryan and Deb Keeling, Gary and Janie Lassmann, Casey Jones and myself. Go to your LSBA Magazine for our addresses or E-mail or call us at home and let us know what you think could help make(Y)OUR shoots better for the shooters and the LSBA. Turn outs were down this year and we need all the help we can get to try to get more shooters out and involved. Please let us have your input....Sincerely yours in Archery

:D Would sure like to see more youth involved this coming year. These guys are the future of bowhunting. We need to get them involved in bowhunting, 3D archery for practice, spot shooting, whatever we can to get them shooting. Please contact me with any suggestions you may have. email me at lassmann@selectrec.net, or call me at 361-576-3533.
As we get close to archery season, I wish everyone has a successful bow season.

I understand the need for 3d but I would truely like the EC to have more bow hunts and less 3d. I joined for bow hunting. I do nt participate in 3d as I read the 3d results I see the same clan of shooters. What is up? We need more of a balance

[color=black:2bb1e6c069]I agree we need to be pushing the fellowship hunt aspect a lot more. But, 3-D has been a major contributor to the bottom line of the org the last few years under the direction of the Simones. Without it, the org would have been in a lot worse shape financially. It definitely has its place and needs to be supported and grown as does the hunting aspect.

Just as an FYI, in visiting a lot of the other major archery internet boards out there, 3-D has been down at almost all the shoots out there around the nation. I heard the Texas Longbow Championship had their first sub 250 shooter totals in years. It

I agree with the financial statement, but ask a rethorical question which came first the chicken or the egg. Was it the fact that more energy, resources and passion were working on these to generate more revenue? Whilst I agree that we should have 3D I think equal time needs to be CONSIDERED for other sponsored events. Maybe a survey could be run through the magazine to ascertain opions. We need to find out why we are only seeing the same people involved and heal ourselves. JMHO but I believe each of the people I have met so far are wonderful and the diversity gives us strength, but at the same time we need some unification and all have skeletons to fix...

hogslayer, I agree the LSBA is a Hunting Association. Before I started shooting 3D, I shot my bow enough to feel confident in myself to make a good killing shot on an animal. Then, after October, I put my bow up and hunted with a rifle thru the rest of the season. I am not saying this is wrong, but now with 3D, I have fun shooting tournaments and have met and made some very good friends that I would not have otherwise. Now I am an Archer year round and also a Bowhunter. IF it weren't for the first 3D tournament I attended, I would probably still be hunting only and probably with my old compounds. I will bring your thoughts up at the next EC meeting and maybe we can get a Hunting Committee together to work on trying to get affordable hunts for our members on a regular basis just as we work on and put on 3D tournaments. I do enjoy shooting my bow whether at fish, deer, foam, or whatever. Thanks for your thoughts...Yours in Archery.......Steve

Longbowsteve I appreciate the EC looking into this for myself and other Hunters. Whilst I appreciate you position, I try to hunt with my bow from september through april. In my off months I can be found twice monthly at my local bow shop (Red Sand Archery) shooting the Dart system. I practice on this system as it is closer to the angles and difficulty since the targets are moving. I do appreciate the effort you and others put in to make the 3D's work and I would never say anything negative about them, I would however like to see more hunts. I am hoping to meet some of the EC members at the big brushy hunt in september.

Regards and Keep up the Great Work!
