I guess Robert forgot he is on the Hunt committee!! I will try to go with Gary to the Austin meeting on the 17th. Great job by all!! The calling of expired members is great maybe some from the HR could call the people from their area as to not run up long distant phone bills for EC members!!Can't wait to buy merchandise off the web site!! Here is to a great 2005!!

Beleg thanks for getting this posted. One correction though. I not only called Gary with info about the upcoming LSBA fellowship hunt in October but also emailed Bob Torres the following info which he was going to give out at the meeting. Bob is on the hunt committee and represented not only the magazine but the hunt committee as well.
Thanks,
Tomme
HUNT COMMITTEE REPORT
The hunt committee visited the Benavides Ranch near Laredo (Rick Roberts outfitter) in May to hold an organizational meeting and to explore the possibility of holding a fellowship hunt there in September. Bottom line was that while the ranch was a good future prospect, we did not feel that it was ready for a fellowship hunt in September.
Based on visiting the ranch and the opinions of the seven LSBA hunt committee members in attendance the following is recommended that:
1. Before we hold a hunt at a ranch it must be surveyed for adequacy by members of the hunt committee.
2. At least two large hunts per year be held with the possibility of two or more regional hunts. Large hunts will be at ranches which can handle 40-50 hunters, regional hunts may be in the 15-20 hunter range.
3. On future hunts areas will be assigned to ALL hunters by a draw. (This will keep people from coming in early to try to lock up a good area, and also will prevent anyone from claiming that LSBA members running the hunt are being favored). NOTE

It is great to see the above info being shared on this site. I think members will be happy to see what has been taking place to help them maintain their bowhunting privileges.
Special thanks to all who contributed to the above.
