:o Thanks guys! Come out and talk bowhunting! Hope to see y'all there!

Bobster is already working on his list of questions for me!
It should be interesting to say the least!

I am very fortunate to be part of the Bass Pro Shop Pro Staff. I hope that I can influence more women, families and children to become involved in bowhunting!

Congratulations on the BPS Pro Staff slot, about time they wised up!

does this mean you took the Dale Carnigie "learn to overcome your fears of speaking to large groups" course?? LOL

Thanks for continueing to be the tip of the arrow for bowhunters and educating thousands of it's values and rewards!

Dena's finally making it big. I'll have to make it a point to come up with some very interesting questions...heck I could even pass some of them out at the door so I wouldn't have to ask them all myself:)

Thanks again! It is really not that big of a deal!! I just feel honored to have been asked and hope that I can make a difference in bowhunting and with BPS. I guess they figured if I was going to be in the store all the time, they should put me to work. :D

No, Steve, I haven't over come that fear yet, but I'm learning pretty quickly. As long as I can walk around the archery department and talk to folks and answer questions, I'm okay. Put me on a stage to do a seminar and I have a panic attack. :)

Brandon, won't you be working or hunting that weekend?? I think Bobby has a group of hecklers that he is planning on bringing out.

If enough hecklers show up, maybe we can plan an LSBA Get Together afterwards. :D

Yes, it will be at the Katy store.

I will do my best to get out there and join the group of hecklers..... you know I am good at that!!!

If anyone would like a list of challenging tech questions feel free to send me a PM and I'll send them your way:) Dena said last night that she is going to teach everyone how to tune there bow, build bowstrings, make cedar arrows, and time permitting even build a self-bow in about an hour:)

I knew her when she was one of the little people(....er....still is).

Congratulations Ms. Pro Staffer. You really rock.

Thanks Chew!!

Bullrdr, I did my ground blind gig! Albeit not on stage, but from the ground blind section.

BrandonH, you forgot the topic of "how to hide a body so no one can find it!!!" :banned: I don't think tech stuff is on my agenda. In fact, I know it is not! Now, where is the disabling button for PMs...:jump:

Dena
In real tissues, outcome-data manifestly exhibits …
While impact momentum cannot be used as a stand-alone
predictor of penetration it does show positive correlation
with outcome penetration; it demonstrates relevancy. This
means impact momentum can be used as a predictive function
when all other arrow penetration factors are constant.
With a constant arrow, real tissue data confirms: Average
tissue penetration increase is directly proportional to the
increase in impact momentum. Several instances of this have
been presented in Updates, and yet another will be showing up
in the new Updates.
Among actual outcomes, kinetic energy has failed to show
positive correlation with tissue penetration. It is not useful
as either predictor or predictive function.
On casual observation it might appear that kinetic energy
should be applicable. After all, a substantial portion of it
is represented by the arrow's velocity, and arrow velocity is
a contributive component to momentum. However, any direct
kinetic energy application overlooks important factors: (1)
the disproportional increase in penetration-resistance
actually exhibited by tissues as velocity increases; (2) the
mechanics of the impulse of force during penetration and; (3)
the fact that, by its very definition, kinetic energy cannot
be used as either a measure or indicator of force.
It is due to disproportional resistance increase and
impulse mechanics that the penetration/kinetic-energy
relationship steadfastly exhibits decrement during tissue
testing. The penetration-increase to kinetic-energy-increase
ratio is not proportional.
Decrement should not be confused with a negative
correlation. It simply indicates that the rate of penetrationincrease
constantly decreases as impact kinetic energy
increases. With a constant arrow, will the percentage of
penetration gain become smaller?

I have always wondered and didn't know who to ask.

hmmmm... so that's the answer.

In real tissues, outcome-data manifestly exhibits …

I didn't think it manifestly exbibited... :michael:

Buff, thanks for asking.

In response to your question~

Yes, with a constant arrow, the percentage of penetration gain becomes smaller each time impact kinetic energy is increased by a set amount.

P.S. I read Dr. Ed Ashby also. :)

Dena, :think:I still want to know which arrow is better, the XX75s Gametamers or the Easton XX75 Gamegetters. Also, which broadhead would be better, Hell Raiser from Thunderhead, or the Hell Razor that NAP makes? :ouch:Bob
