Bowwiz and I traveled to Sequin yesterday to help Keith Majors put on The Bowhunter Challenge at the Seguin-Guadalupe County 22nd Annual Buck Fever. "All profits go to the Buck Fever Scholarships’ and many youth related programs of Guadalupe County and to conserve tomorrow's wildlife".
Bowwiz and I both have been very impressed with the dedication and commitment of Keith and his helpers to promote bowhunting in the Sequin area. I was most impressed with the number of bowhunters that came out to take the challenge. The shoot was indoors and there were five 3D targets, four stationary and one moving buck. Shooters had a time limit to complete the five shots and shots were scored so trophies could be awarded at the end of the challenge. We had a lot of youth show up to participate. Many of the shooters had no experience shooting 3D and they really had a great time. The moving buck had a $50 bill over the twelve ring and if you hit it, you got to keep it. 3 shooters have colleted $50 bucks so far, one being a youth.
The LSBA has done very well out of this event, so far we have signed up 31 new LSBA members. The last day of Buck Fever is today and the event runs from 5:00 pm to 10:00 pm this evening. If you’re in the Austin/San Antonio area, stop by this evening and take The Challenge!
